The Masirah survey

Members of our team participated in the Maritime Footprints Masirah Island Survey Project, an archaeological and ethnographic coastal survey of Masirah Island conducted in January, 2013. During the survey, traditional boats were measured, interviews were conducted, archaeological sites were recorded, and the coastal topography was selectively mapped. This project was primarily funded by the British Academy under the International Partnership and Mobility Scheme, in cooperation with the Sultan Qaboos University, the University of Southampton, the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sultanate of Oman.
